We store only your name, email and your recipes. Card details are handled by Stripe, never stored by us.

Who we are

PlateCost is run by Chris Fry, a sole trader in the UK, who is the data controller. Contact: [support email to be confirmed].

What we collect

• Your name and email address, received from Google, Microsoft or Apple when you sign in. We never see or store a password.
• The ingredients, prices and recipes you add to your account.
• Your Stripe customer and subscription reference, so we know which plan you are on. Stripe holds your card details; we never receive them.

The free Dish Profit Calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you type into it is saved or sent to us.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

To provide the service you signed up for (contract). To send service emails such as trial reminders (contract). Marketing emails only if you tick a separate, unticked box (consent), which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

• Cloudflare (hosting and database)
• Stripe (payments)
• Google, Microsoft or Apple (sign-in only, the one you choose)
• Our email provider (sending service emails) [to be confirmed]

We do not sell your data. Some providers may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards [to be confirmed per provider].

How long we keep it

Until you delete your account. One click on "Delete my account and all data" removes your name, email and recipes from our database. Backups roll off within [period to be confirmed]. Stripe keeps payment records it is legally required to hold.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
